My signs of Spring:
- White rabbits turning brown. [check]
- The Flickers come back. (You can hear them tapping on metal street lights). [check]
- Robins come back. (Although, I have yet to hear the early one that's usually up at 4:00 a.m.) [check]
- Seagulls come back. [check]
- Gophers are out. [check]
- The air smells like doggy-do, especially in the dog park. [check & check]
- Kit demands to be let outside. [sigh, check]
Today, though, I thought I'd share a couple of photographer websites that recently came to my attention.
The first website is for Evgeny Chertov, a photographer who is currently showing some of his work at the downtown Central Library. Even though he considers himself an engineer by trade, he is a fantastic photographer. Most of his work is nature landscapes. I especially like his photo of the Clipper canoe on a foggy lake.
A few years ago, my friend and her husband vacationed on a ship in Antarctica. She forwarded to me an email she received from Ira Meyer; a fellow shipmate and photographer. Ira sent a link to a Daily Mail article that showcases some of his Antarctic photos. Ira has been taking photos of Antarctica for years and the beautiful photos are in the article "From close whale encounters to other-worldly turquoise terrains: Photographer who has spent decades visiting Antarctica unveils his top shots" by Sadie Whitelocks. Almost makes you want to go down there. Almost.
The thing about cocooning is it feels like you are a beginner learner again. Well, we'll see how it goes.
Happy Spring!!
