International Women's Day - 2013 : A woman's place

March 8 is International Women's Day. Seven organizations and nearly 100 women gathered and paraded down Stephen Avenue at noon today. There was drumming and speeches, dancing and protest songs, placards and food trucks!

It was wonderfull!

Interesting that no news cameras or crews were there.  None that I saw anyway.  There's nothing on the news web sites either.  I guess women's inequality and violent abuse can't compete with gorillas escaping from the Calgary Zoo. [sigh]
